Police offer reward to solve elderly loner's slaying
Victorian police have offered a $100,000 reward in a last-ditch bid to solve the stabbingmurder of a reclusive and elderly cancer patient.
A visiting nurse discovered the body of 83-year-old EDWARD JOHN YOUNG in the loungeroom of his Port Melbourne home on April 3, 2000.
Police have been unable to establish a motive for the killing which has been described as brutal.
