What Town of Tonawanda and Kenmore residents want most fromtheir cable service is access to local networks and national news,according to a recent survey.
The poll of 300 cable users in the town and village, conductedlast month by a private company for the two municipalities, alsofound significant interest in educational and sports programs.
Lowest rankings went to programs involving adult entertainment,home shopping, pay-per-view and a community billboard, saidTonawanda Councilwoman Jeanne C. Bartlo, who chairs the jointtown-village cable committee.
The survey was conducted as the town and village continuenegotiations for a new 10-year pact with Adelphia Cable.
More than half of the users said they would consider payingtheir bills at the local supermarket, bank or cable outlet ifpossible. About a third of those questioned were interested inplugging into the Internet via cable.
