MEXICO CITY, Nov 22, 2002 (El Economista/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- The Competition Program for the Leather Footwear Sector (PROCIC) proposes the establishment of a financial trust fund for clusters, greater protection against illegal trade, an increase in promotion to attract foreign investment and transfer of technology, as well as new scheme for sales in the public sector."The coordination between companies, the government and public and private organizations related to the productive chain will allow the implementation of the Program, sustainable strengthening of the sector and permanent competition in the sector," read the PROCIC, which was presented by Secretary of Economy Luis Ernesto Derbez. Mexico is the 20th-largest exporter of footwear in the world and the 5th-most important supplier of the United States.
